Anyways, he has been arrested. looks like the wife will get justice after all.

An All Progressives Party (APC) politician who battered his wife in Ogun State recently has been arrested by the Nigerian Police operatives at the Ogun State police command.
Mr. Bayo Awosanya, also known as “Bashorun” who had disappeared since the public outcry trailed his brutal assault of his wife reportedly turned himself in at the Sagamu Police Station in Ogun State yesterday.
Eyewitnesses who saw him at the police station said Awosanya got to the Station with a convoy of more than fifteen cars, all occupied by some known and unknown persons.
According to the witnesses, the entourage he took with him to the Police Station were looked mean and intimidating.
Announcing in a statement later, the PPRO of the Ogun State Command said Awosanya admitted to beating his wife. He also said he has now been arrested.
The police also said Awosanya has now been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation for further questioning.
Police statement further stated that the culprit will be charged to court immediately investigations is concluded.
Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye through the statement assured all NGO's following up on the matter and the general public that it is disposed to supporting their calls for proper investigation and prosecution in the matter.
Meanwhile, a women's right advocacy group, Women Arise, led by Joe Okei-Odumakin said today that her group has assembled a team of lawyers to prosecute the politician on behalf of the victim.
Odumakin said she visited the victim in Sagamu after the incident happened and had condemned the assault on the victim. She said it was a pointer to bad leadership for a wife-beater to occupy political offices, stating that her group will monitor the case till justice is achieved.
