Soldiers mistakenly opens fire on Borno governor’s convoy
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima

Troops in Maiduguri, Borno State, ‘mistakenly’ opened fire on the convoy of Governor Kashim Shettima   as it approached a military garrison near the airport.
Shettima was on his way to visit   soldiers, who were wounded in the simultenous Boko Haram   attacks on Maiduguri, Monguno and Kodunga when the incident occurred on Monday.
Security sources, according to SaharaReporters, said   the governor’s protocol unit was to blame for the incident as it   failed to notify the military authorities about Shettima’s intention to visit the military facility on Monday evening.
An aide to the governor   was quoted by the online news portal as having said that the governor, who was unharmed in the encounter, returned to his office unruffled.
The report however did not say if anyone in the convoy was hurt. It also was silent on whether or not Shettima’s security aides returned fire.
A Government House source however claimed that the governor’s convoy heard sporadic gunshots about one kilometre from the 33 Battalion and therefore made a U-turn.

(Mistakenly? So the fancy cars looked like that of an enemy or what? who else believes this B.S..I do not think its a mistake at all. that man should be careful for his own good)

Attacks on my person is nit surprising-Buhari
Former Head of State, Gen.Muhammadu Buhari

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the February 14 presidential election, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday said he was not surprised at attacks on his person by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party leaders.
He also said that Nigeria could not afford another four years under a PDP-led government.
He explained that a party which had failed to deliver on promises it had been making to Nigerians for almost 16 years, would have nothing new to offer if given another four years.
Buhari said this while receiving in audience a delegation of members of the Peoples Democratic Movement who were in his office to adopt him as their candidate for the 2015 presidential election.
According to him, whether or not the Nigerian elite is willing to admit it, the 2015 elections represent a watershed in the nation’s political history.

Jonathan, Mark knock Maku for dumping PDP
Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku

President Goodluck Jonathan; President of the Senate, David Mark; and a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ahmadu Ali, on Tuesday lashed out at a former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, for dumping the PDP for the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
While Jonathan described Maku’s action as anti-party, Mark said the former minister was a liar while Ali described him as an ingrate.
They spoke at the Lafia Township Stadium during the PDP presidential rally.
Jonathan said there was no truth in the former minister’s claim that he (the President) encouraged him to join APGA
The President said he could not be involved in anti-party activities.
Jonathan said he did not at any time have any discussion with him. He said he did not encourage Maku to join another party.

Niger Delta militants meet in Yenagoa, threaten war should Jonathan lose presidential election
Asari Dokubo
Prominent Niger Delta militants have vowed to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan wins the February 14 presidential election.
Mr. Jonathan is of the Ijaw ethnic stock, and the only member of a minority tribe from the South to have ever governed Nigeria.
The former militants, who said any attempt to dethrone the President would be seen as a direct attack on the Ijaw nation, threatened to unleash violence on the country and take back Niger Delta oil should Mr. Jonathan lose re-election.
According to them the President’s victory in the election is not negotiable.
The former militant leaders took the position Friday in Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, at an enlarged meeting that was attended by all the former militant leaders and their followers across the Niger Delta region.
Among those in attendance were Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, leader, Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force; Victor Ben Ebikabowei, aka, Boy Loaf; and Government Ekpudomenowei, aka, Tompolo.
Also in attendance were the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, and chairman of Amnesty Implementation Committee, Kingsley Kuku; Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson and his deputy; President General of Ijaw Youth Council, Udengs Eradiri; among others.
(If they are threatening Nigeria this way.because this is clearly some serious threat..then what is the essence of voting? since you are bent of making trouble, even if Jona is not the choice of the Nigerians. Let Nigerians decide who they want to be their leaders. all these talks of war...hmnn)

Festus Keyamo says Jonathan has no clue on how to rule Nigeria effectively.
Festus Keyamo
Lagos based lawyer, Festus Keyamo, has urged Nigerians not to be deceived by the lies of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign organization against the All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Keyamo said the president and his handlers have failed to understand that the 2015 presidential election was not about human rights or religious issues, but about insecurity, corruption and the economy.
Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES earlier in the week, Mr. Keyamo said, “It is not a campaign that should be dominated by human rights record because that is not an issue now because we have a competition in place. Chapter 4 has not been suspended, unlike in 1984. Now, this campaign is dominated by two centre things – there is a third one that is also crucial – which are insecurity, corruption and of course the issues of the economy is hanging in there too. So, let us be clear in making our decision. We know exactly what we are doing. This not a campaign that should be dominated by human rights record; that is where the PDP is getting it wrong.”
He said it was time for Nigerians to realize that Mr. Jonathan had no clue or idea on how to run Nigeria. He added that the country was at a crossroad and needed a commander-in-chief at the helms of affair.
